Artistic Review- Green Lantern Animation
In Green Lantern: The Animated Series, we are given a fresh look on the crisp animation. In the first episode "Beware my Power", we are shown a new story line where Green Lantern trainees are being killed relentlessly by another unknown force. Later in the episode we find that the true culprits behind the murders are from a long forgotten group called the "Red Lanterns". As the episode continues, we learn more about each of the characters.
In the first half of the episode, the main characters, Hal and Kilowog, "borrow" the ship The Interceptor from Oa. After "borrowing" this ship, they set off to save to other Green Lanterns deep outside of the galaxy from the imminent threat of the Red Lanterns. Before reaching their destination, they are faced with the predicament of exiting the hyper warp.
The main characters maintain their integrity by choosing to borrow this ship in order to save the Green Lanterns in need. Both Hal and Kilowog have their own qualities that define who they are. These qualities help shape their characters in order to give them a sense of appeal.
The graphics in the animation help create a sense of appeal for the audience. The graphics are seamlessly connected in order to create smooth transitions that show each of the animations principles.
